Rental vs one-time number
A one-time number is for a single verification and is released as soon as the code arrives. A rental is reserved for you for the whole period you rent it. Every SMS sent to it during that time shows in your dashboard, so you can receive several codes at different moments.
When a rental makes more sense
- You may need to verify the account again in the next days or weeks.
- You run a long-lived business account, such as WhatsApp Business.
- You expect more than one code from the same app (sign-in, security).
- You are testing and will reuse the same number repeatedly.
Duration and extensions
Rental periods are offered in hours, days and weeks. If extension is available you can extend the same number before it expires so you keep it. Current durations and prices appear on the Rentals page once you are signed in; the price depends on the country and the app.
