What is a virtual phone number?
A virtual phone number is a number that is not tied to a physical SIM. AuthSMS numbers are built for SMS verification: messages sent to the number show up in your dashboard. They are not a replacement for a permanent phone line, and you cannot place or receive voice calls with them.
Countries you can choose from
More than 195 countries are listed. Popular choices include the United States (+1), the United Kingdom (+44), Germany (+49), France (+33), Indonesia (+62) and Turkey (+90). Which country works best for a given app changes over time, so price and stock are shown live every time you look.
Some countries, Turkey for example, cost noticeably more and sell out faster because operators limit how many numbers can be used for verification. If you do not need a specific country, a cheaper one usually works just as well for the same app.
One-time virtual numbers and rentals
A one-time number covers a single verification and is released once the code arrives. It is the lowest-cost option and enough for most signups.
A rental stays yours for the period you pick, so the same number can receive several SMS. It is the safer choice if you may need to verify the account again later.
What affects the price?
Price depends on the country, the app and current stock. Where numbers are plentiful the price drops; where they are scarce it rises. That is why we do not publish a fixed price list: the services page shows every country with live price and stock for the app you choose, and only the number you buy is charged to your balance.
Before you buy a virtual number
- Open the verification screen in the app first; codes are valid for a limited time.
- If no SMS arrives, cancel the number. The amount returns to your balance when no SMS was delivered.
- A number that was used on the same app before may be rejected. Try another one.
- For long-lived accounts, move the account to your own permanent number afterwards.
- Free shared numbers show every message to everyone. Avoid them for anything important.
